Bio: Christine Truong
Dr. Christine Truong is an accomplished young aerodynamics engineer with a B.S. in Physics (with honors) from NYU and a Ph.D. in Engineering Science & Mechanics from Penn State University (focusing on experimental fluid mechanics). She is the recipient of almost a dozen collegiate-level academic awards, including an NSF-funded postdoctoral fellowship. She combines rigorous academic training with industry experience: At KCF Technologies, Christine focused on hardware and systems engineering for US-based automotive, paper products, and the oil & gas industry.
She has visited numerous manufacturing plants and assisted plant managers and maintenance engineers with reducing operational downtime by improving system inefficiencies via pump system assessments and computational fluid dynamics (CFD). At the SBIR-funded startup Accelerate Wind, Christine performed many critical engineering analyses to develop a rooftop wind turbine system prototype as a mechanical engineer and project engineer. She has performed CFD, drivetrain, and levelized cost of energy (LCOE) analyses to benchmark field data and optimize a design prototype. She also assisted in the development of a novel aeroelastic model to estimate turbine power output, secured $230,000 in federal grant funding, coordinated the design, manufacturing, and installation of a prototype on a USAF base, and was the primary author of over a dozen detailed technical reports.
I am excited to bring my industry and academic experience to Cosmic Consulting. Just as I was guided through 13 years of high school, undergraduate and graduate school, I am passionate about helping young adults realize the potential in themselves and help them persevere through adversity.
As an engineer who loves to write – both technically and non-technically — I can also help you bridge the communication gap. Many brilliant students undersell themselves, struggling to translate technical work into compelling narratives. Together, we can take your accomplishments, your experiences, and your story into a masterpiece of a personal vignette to set your application apart from your peers.
